Write what you think the people in the following situations SHOULD HAVE DONE or SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE (ch. 9, ex. 17):
1. John and his wife, Julie, had good jobs as professionals in New York City. John was offered a high-paying job in Chicago, which he immediately accepted. Julie was shocked when he came home that evening and told her the news. She liked her job and the people she worked with, and did not want to move away and look for another job.
2. Ann agreed to meet her friend Carl at the library to help him with his chemistry homework. On the way, she stopped at a cafe where her boyfriend worked. Her boyfriend told her he could get off work early that night, so the two of them decided to go to a movie. Ann didn't cancel her plans with Carl. Carl waited for three hours at the library.
3. For three years, Donna had been saving her money for a trip to Europe. Her brother, Larry, had a good job, but spent all of his money on expensive cars, clothes, and entertainment. Suddenly, Larry was fired from his job and had no money to support himself while he looked for another one. Donna lent him nearly all of her savings, and within three weeks he spent it all on his car, more clothes, and expensive restaurants.
4. Sarah often exaggerated and once told a co-worker that she was fluent in French, even though she had studied only a little and could not really communicate in the language. A few days later, her boss asked her to come to his office to interpret a meeting with a French businessman who had just arrived from Paris to negotiate a major contract with the company. After an embarrassed silence, Sarah told her boss that she was feeling ill and had to go home immediately.

4. Sarah shouldn't have told a lie her boss.
And, her boss shouldn't have asked her to come to his office to interpret a meeting with French man. She should have studied French very hard.

1-I think the decision of choosing the future work is a personal decision, however John should have asked his wife to discuss the matter , whether this decision is right or not .

Bothe couple should have reviewed their expenses to deiced if they have to move on this situation .
On the other hand, if the Julia was received the same offer she probably would discuss this with john first.
2-Ann , Should have canceled her meeting with her boyfriend , since she agreed to see Carl at the beginning . Or she Should have canceled at least one of the two meeting and apologize for the other one on early time.
3- Donna shouldn’t have given him all saving money , she probably should support her brother with a mount of money until he get a job . But if she have awareness of his behavior she shouldn’t have given him money .
4- Sarah should not have to pretend about her ability in French Language , but her boss also should have acted as professional man who must bring official translator to official meeting , instead of relying on regular employee .
1) I think John shouldn't have accepted the job immediately. He should have called Julie first, he should have told her the new before he accepts the offering.

She was not fare with her friend, She should have talked to her boyfriend and explained the situation that she had already made an appointment with a friend that needed her help.
3) Donna was very naive, she shouldn't have lent her money to her brother. And the other hand, Larry should have been ashamed for his behaviour.
4) Sarah shouldn't have exaggerated this way, she shouldn't have told such lie to her co worker or She should have told to her co worker that It was just a joke

-May be, they will be happy in Chicago, but Julie has to be comfortable with this decision.
-Therefore, they should have discussed about this news, Julie did not shock about it.

The boss should have prepare for the meeting carefully by hiding a translator or he/she should have asked someone to test Sarah speaking before the meeting.
