  4. In modern life, besides addiction to drug, alcohol, and cigarettes, there are more and more kind of additions, such as addiction to coffee, chocolate, internet, and even studying and working.
“I am addicted to coffee,” Jung began, “because I don’t want to sleep so much. I need 4-5 cups of coffee every day.” She also told us that after school, she studied until her kids came home. And then, she needed to prepare food for them, cleaned her house, and taught her kids to do their homework. Coffee helps her have more time, and it also cause her not sleep enough 8 hours per day. “I often go to bed at 2:00. After doing all things that the mom needs to do, I study English for class tomorrow,” Jung said.
That is not only Jung who is addicted to coffee. Dalia is addicted to coffee, too. “I need 4-5 cups of coffee a day, and it must be dark” said Dalia. She told it was difficult for her to fall sleep, and she often woke up at 6 a.m. - That was reason why she drank coffee, and was addicted to it. She needed to wake up to focus on study in morning class.
Dalia is also addicted to chocolate, internet, and studying.
Dalia said she had studied and worked for 12 hours a day before she had come to the U.S. she could forget eating while she was studying, and she lost 11kg at that time. And now, she almost spent her time after class for her computer to get information. “It’s better for me if I am addicted to activity or exercising hobbies,” said Dalia.
According to the research, they said, “Internet or visual media keep people who feel lonely from friend and family communication, and physical activity.”
Addiction could be harmful. However, it could help us do what needs to do. Now, all of us need to find how to combine both addiction and daily life for our good heaths and successes.
